Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This policy explains what information TempBox (“we”, “us”), operating temporaryemail.world, handles when you use the service, and why. We built TempBox to need as little data as possible.
No accounts
TempBox has no user accounts. We do not ask for your name, your real email address, a password, or any payment information to use the free service.
What we handle
- Temporary inboxes and messages. When you open the site we generate a random address and store the emails sent to it only until the address expires. Messages are then deleted (see “Retention”).
- Technical data. To keep the service working and prevent abuse we process your IP address (stored only as a short, irreversible hash for rate-limiting), and standard request metadata handled by our infrastructure provider.
- Local storage in your browser. We store your current and recent addresses, your language and your light/dark preference in your own browser (localStorage). This never leaves your device and is not sent to us.
Retention
- Messages are deleted when the inbox timer runs out, and in any case are not kept beyond a short maximum lifetime.
- An expired address is reserved for a period so it is never reissued to someone else, then purged.
- Abuse reports may keep a snapshot of a reported message for a limited time so we can act on it.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
The core service does not require cookies. If enabled, we may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand traffic, and we may show advertising. Third-party advertising (such as Google AdSense) and third-party analytics can set their own cookies and process data under their own policies; where required we will ask for your consent first. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We rely on service providers to run TempBox, including Cloudflare (hosting, email routing and security). If advertising is enabled, advertising partners process ad-related data under their own privacy policies. We may disclose information if required by law or to respond to abuse.
Your rights
Because we hold almost no personal data and no accounts, most data is transient and self-deleting. For any privacy question or request, contact us at privacy@temporaryemail.world.
Children
TempBox is not directed at children and should not be used by anyone under the age required by their local law to consent to processing of their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
